The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi is a landmark symbol of faith, cultural unity, and architectural excellence. Set to be the largest Hindu temple in the UAE, it reflects the country’s commitment to religious tolerance and inclusivity. Located in the heart of Abu Dhabi, the temple is part of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha and was approved by the UAE government in 2015 as a space for interfaith dialogue.
The temple blends traditional Indian architecture with modern engineering, featuring intricate carvings, domes, and white marble. Inside, it will house sacred idols, smaller shrines, and cultural spaces, offering both spiritual and community activities.
Guidelines for Appropriate Attire
When visiting a mosque/church/mandir or any religious places, both men and women should dress modestly. Men should wear long pants and a shirt with sleeves, while women must cover their arms, legs, chest, and hair with a headscarf. Clothing should be opaque and non-revealing, with shorts and transparent fabrics prohibited.
Additionally, any visible tattoos should be covered.

Explore the Temple Ground Take a leisurely walk around the beautiful temple grounds. The temple's architecture is exquisite, with intricate carvings and stunning marble features. You’ll also find lush gardens and peaceful surroundings. Visit the Main Temple Hall Enter the main prayer hall, where the heart of the temple resides. Admire the beautifully carved deities and stunning architecture of the temple’s interior. The peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal time for personal reflection and prayer. Explore the Exhibits & Museum Head to the temple's exhibits or museum (if available). The temple often has displays showcasing Hindu culture, traditions, and the temple’s construction process. This is a great way to understand the temple's cultural and historical importance. Enjoy a Snack or Drink at the Temple Café (Your Own) After exploring the temple grounds and offerings, visit the temple’s café or snack area (if open) to enjoy a light vegetarian snack or drink. Participate in a Spiritual Activity If available, participate in any spiritual activities or join in the prayer or aarti sessions that might be happening. This is a great opportunity to experience the temple’s devotional practices up close.
