Al Ain Zoo is a premier wildlife destination in the UAE, offering an immersive experience in the world of animals and conservation. Opened in 1969, the zoo has grown into one of the largest & most well-known wildlife parks in the region, dedicated to animal welfare, research, & education.
Spread across 900 hectares, the zoo is home to over 4,000 animals, including a diverse range of species from around the world, with a special focus on Arabian wildlife & endangered species. Such as the Arabian Oryx, Arabian leopard, & cheetah, as well as a collection of African & Asian wildlife.
Alongside the animal exhibits, the zoo is home to educational centres that emphasize the importance of biodiversity, sustainability, & wildlife conservation.

Start with Arabian Wildlife
Begin your visit with the Arabian Wildlife Park to explore species native to the region, including the Arabian Oryx, sand gazelles, and Arabian leopards. Learn about the zoo’s conservation efforts for these endangered species.
Visit the Safari Area
Next, head to the Safari area, where you can enjoy a safari through a spacious, open-air environment. Here, you'll find giraffes, buffalo, rhinos, and various other animals roaming freely.
Explore the Reptile House and Birds
Visit the Reptile House, where you can observe a variety of reptiles, including snakes, lizards, and tortoises. This area offers an opportunity to learn about some of the world’s most fascinating cold-blooded creatures. Afterward, head to the Birds of Prey section. Here, you’ll see majestic birds such as eagles, falcons, and vultures, important creatures in the UAE’s falconry tradition. You can even observe demonstrations of falconry, depending on the schedule.
Stop by the Children's Zoo
Visit the Children's Zoo where younger visitors can interact with domesticated animals like goats, sheep, and rabbits. It's a great stop if you’re visiting with children, but even adults will enjoy getting up close to these friendly animals.
Take a Break and Explore the Gardens
After walking around the zoo, take a break in the lush gardens. This will allow you to relax, enjoy the scenery, and grab a refreshment. There are several cafes and rest areas where you can unwind for a bit.
